GHAZAL POETRY CONTEST: in honor of the birthday of Agha Shahid Ali, Poetcraft Magazine will be holding a contest for the best ghazal. Preference will be given to ghazals written according to the traditional rules of the form: poems with a rhyming sound (quaafiya) preceding the repeating refrain (radif). Ghazals must be submitted by current members of Poetcraft Circles community and must be submitted in the body of an email to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight on Shahid Ali’s birthday, Feb. 4, 2016.
The winning poem will be published in Poetcraft Magazine, and the winner will also receive a year’s membership in Poetcraft Circles.
